New Coverage Announcement: Service Line Coverage
As you know, Ullrich Insurance Agency represents MANY insurance companies. We match our clients with their best option.
As of not too long ago, we have a few insurance companies that are offering a new coverage called “Service Line Coverage.”
We really like this coverage. If the insurance company offers the coverage, we recommend it to our clients.
Every home has service lines under their home that go out to the city lines. Homeowners insurance does not cover these under ground service lines. Sometimes, if a home is older, a tree root might go into the underground service line and damage it. When the under ground service line is damaged, the homeowner must pay a company to dig a hole and replace the line. This is very expensive, often around $10,000.
In the past, this situation was NEVER covered by homeowners insurance. At this time, however, some of our companies are starting to offer this coverage.
The downside is that every insurance company has restrictions and certain coverage limits. This is better than nothing. We will continue to encourage our insurance companies to offer better and better coverages to protect our clients.
